I haven’t always been into fitness. As a child and teenager, I avoided sport. I didn’t feel confident, didn’t feel good enough - and so I quit before I could fail.
That all changed when, at 16, I started attending functional fitness classes. For the first time, I discovered that movement could feel empowering, challenging, and fun. Those classes became a non-negotiable part of my week and, over time, they helped me build strength, fitness, confidence - and ultimately led me to qualify as a personal trainer.
But like many in the industry, I quickly fell into the trap of “no carbs, no excuses.” The message was clear: the smaller, leaner, and lighter you are, the better. I believed it. I exercised to burn off food. I feared rest days. I was stuck in a toxic cycle of restriction during the week, followed by overeating at the weekend - only to start all over again on Monday.
At my “skinniest,” I was anything but happy. I was exhausted. I felt lost. I thought I had to choose between living my life and reaching my goals.
Working with a nutrition coach changed everything. Over two years, I learned to break free from the all-or-nothing mindset, to let go of food rules and body shame, and to stop using exercise as punishment. I began to appreciate my body - not for how it looked, but for everything it could do. I discovered tools like body appreciation, body functionality, and body image flexibility. These tools didn’t just change my habits- they changed my life.
That journey inspired me to become a certified nutritionist, so I could help others escape the same cycle of burnout, restriction, and guilt. I want to help you build a healthy, happy relationship with movement, food, and your body. One where you focus on becoming your healthiest self - not just your smallest. One where you can make memories with friends and family without the constant fear of being “off track.”
I also feel incredibly lucky to have built such an amazing community at Fitness Is. HQ. From day one, my goal was to create a space where everyone feels welcome - no matter their age, background, or ability. A gym where people don’t feel intimidated, but supported. Where you feel like you belong. That vision wouldn’t be possible without our incredible members. They’re the heart of what makes Fitness Is. so special.
My favourite part of being a personal trainer and coach is helping others realise they’re capable of more than they think. Watching clients hit goals they never thought possible, seeing them grow in confidence, and learning to trust themselves - that’s the magic.
